These words came alive when Johnny painted his self-portrait Five in 2023, inspired by a shoot for Dior’s Sauvage, directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino. Taken by Pop art and Street art, he used colour blocking and rough mark-making to capture the emotional exhaustion he was feeling when completing the artwork in 2021. To Johnny, the painting symbolizes the importance of truth and the steadfast support of those who remain close to you during challenging times.
