Working improvisationally, Paris creates layered paintings that combine figurative abstraction with personal mythologies – often featuring glyph-like faces, totems, and signs drawn from an evolving inner lexicon.
Repetition, pattern, and spontaneity shape his approach, reflecting an intuitive response to memory, music, and the natural environment. Motifs such as spirals, skeletal forms, and stylised eyes appear frequently – creating a personal language rooted in both his Hawaiian upbringing and his experiences in Los Angeles.
He frequently experiments with alternative surfaces, including cardboard, repurposed frames, and found materials, bringing texture and immediacy to his evolving practice. Paris has exhibited work at Gallery 33 and LAQUA Art Miami. In December 2024, he painted a full-scale vintage car live at Art Miami – a performance piece that underscored his improvisational approach.
