Modì – Pantheon Art and IN.2 Host a Special Evening at Tate Modern

On Monday 7th July 2025, Pantheon Art joined forces with Johnny Depp’s production company IN.2 to host a private event at TATE Modern, celebrating the UK debut of Modì: Three Days on the Wing of Madness – Depp’s first directorial work in over 25 years.

The event centred on a live panel discussion titled The Universal Plight of the Artist, held in front of Modigliani’s The Little Peasant. The panel featured Johnny Depp, artist Polly Morgan, critic Waldemar Januszczak, and lead actor Riccardo Scamarcio, who plays Modigliani in the film. Together they explored the personal and professional struggles of artists, both in Modigliani’s time and today.

Depp reflected on the parallels between Modigliani’s turbulent life and his own experiences as a creative figure, while Januszczak and Morgan offered historical and contemporary perspectives on the myth of the suffering artist. The conversation underscored the emotional truths that sit behind both Modigliani’s work and Depp’s interpretation of his story on screen.

This collaboration between Pantheon Art and IN.2 reinforces a longstanding partnership with Depp, whose own visual art practice is grounded in similar themes of introspection, resistance and emotional expression. The event at TATE Modern was not just a preview of a film but a deeper reflection on artistic endurance and legacy.

The press response was wide-ranging. People Magazine covered the evening as a “very special visit” to the gallery, highlighting Depp’s intimate engagement with the collection. The Times notied the significance of the artist-led discussion and its context within one of the UK’s foremost cultural institutions.

As Modì: Three Days on the Wing of Madness prepares for international release, the TATE event marked a meaningful moment – one that connected art and cinema, biography and imagination, and the challenges faced by artists across time.
